Forrest, a construction company in new build, refurbish & respond and energy services, have been confirmed as the contractor in a deal to build The Residence, a twin-tower mixed-use scheme in the centre of Manchester.

The project, which Forrest are set to deliver, has a gross development value of £70m and will see a podium and two towers of 34 and 15 storeys high constructed and will form part of the Greengate regeneration area near Victoria station.

The scheme will include over 300 homes and a gym, with 5,000 sq ft of commercial space on the ground floor – it will also provide a riverside walkway along the River Irwell.

Since last summer, Forrest have been finalising the design, costing and programming of the scheme, with Clancy acting as structural engineers, Abacus as M&E designers and Falconer Chester Hall as project architects.

The project is due to complete in Q4 2018.

Elliot Lawless, director of development company Elliot Group, who chose Forrest to deliver the project, gave his comments:

I spoke with several other developers about Forrest and only got glowing reviews.

I went and checked out their work, spoke with sub-contractors and got consistently good reports so have been working alongside my project managers, WYG, to negotiate the deal for The Residence. I’m delighted to have them on board and to be cracking on.
